How do my patterns work?

Since starting YouTube, a lot of new people have found my patterns and it became clear that for new users, my pattern system is not the easiest!

Let’s get into it – most of my patterns are modular. What does that mean? It means that you can mix and match a bunch of patterns! I have two types of patterns in my modular series: base patterns and mod patterns.

What are base patterns?

Base patterns are the plushies themselves: the no-sew bear, bunny, elephant, fox, frog, cow, duck, … and more to come!

What are mods?

These are modifications you can do to my base patterns. For example, I have the hoodie mod, the buffet mods, the garden mods, the berry mods, … . These work with (nearly) all of my base patterns! For now, the hoodie does not work with the elephant (but that will be updated soon) and with the frog.

Mod-only versus full packs?

On my Etsy, you’ll see both mod-only packs and full packs. For example: I have the no-sew MOD-ONLY hoodie bears and the full pack.

Full pack: these contain both the mod and the base pattern. In the case of the hoodie bears, it includes both the hoodie mod and the bear pattern.

Mod-only: as the name states, these only contain the mods. If you already have the base bear pattern, you can get this mod, so that you don’t have to pay for the base bear pattern twice. Or maybe you don’t want the bear pattern and just want to make a cow in a hoodie: then you would get my base cow pattern and the mod-only hoodie bears.

What about floppy legs and other mods?

Some of my mods are so minor that I would not like anyone to pay extra for them. These mods will be on my Instagram, for free! I am working on getting them on my website as well, for those who don’t have Instagram. In the meantime, you are free to e-mail me for them instead (nookshooksshop@gmail.com)

Some mods that I get a lot of questions about are:

  • The floppy legs – find it here
  • The strawberry hoodie – that is just my plain hoodie with leaves on the head.
  • 1) 5 sc in a Mr
    2) 5 sc around
    3) (chain 2, slip stitch in 2nd chain from the hook, slip stitch into the next sc of row 2) x 5
Leave a tail for sewing it on the hood!

Hope that helps! ❤
